Saute onion and sausage together over medium heat until the meat it browned and onions are starting to caramelize.

Add your cheeses, the whole egg, hot sauce, salt, and parsley.

Mix in your buttermilk baking mix, milk, and mayonnaise. This will create a sticky dough, but that''s what you''re looking for.

Spread half your dough on the bottom of a well-greased 8X8 inch pan and cover with the sausage and onion mixture.

Spread remaining dough over the top of the sausage mixture and brush the top of the dough with your beaten egg yolk.

Bake for 25-30 min at 400 degrees F. Allow to cool slightly, and then cut into 16 squares and serve while warm.

The squares can be made in advance and frozen. Just reheat before serving.
