1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease one 9 inch pie pan.

2. Beat together the applesauce, eggs, and almond extract. Mix in the flour, ground nuts, sugar, and salt. Stir in the cranberries reserving 2/3 cup. Spread the batter into the prepared pan. Stud the top with reserved cranberries pushing each 2/3 into the batter.

3. Bake at 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) for 40 minutes, or until a wooden pick inserted near the center comes out clean. Serve warm or cold, with or without whipped cream or ice cream.
