Steps

1Sift cake flour and salt together and set aside.
2cream granulated sugar and butter together until fluffy.
3add eggs one at a time to creamed mixture
4mix cocoa and food coloring together in a cup until well blended. add to mixture
5alternate adding flour/salt mixture and buttermilk to batter until all are incorporated into the batter
6blend in vanilla
7mix baking soda and vinegar together in a small up. add to batter and blend well.
8pour batter into 3 8" greased pans or one 13x9 greased pan. Bake in preheated 350 degree oven for 30 minutes or until toothpick comes out clean. cool on rack for 10 minutes then turn out on rack to continue to cool.
9to make frosting: mix cream cheese and butter together until fluffy. add marshmallow cream then powdered sugar add 1 to 2 tablespoons of milk as needed to desired consistency. frost layers or sheet cake with frosting. Recommend doing a crumb coating first and letting the cake chill for 5 minutes in freezer or 15 minutes in refrigerator to set, then remove for final coating of frosting.
