Recipe Description This is an old family recipe. Very delicious, unfortunately, not low in calories! If you're not sure when you'll get lunch, this is a great stick-to-ya breakfast!

cupcanola oil

cupsbuttermilk
Steps
Sequence Step
1Mix dry ingredients.
2Add egg, oil, buttermilk (or soured milk--add 2tbsp vinegar to milk).
3Stir well. Check for consistency. Batter should be slightly thin.
4Cook on hot griddle (reasonable oil). Cakes should be crispy on edges and served with butter/syrup.
5Cold Corn Cakes can be eaten later with jam! YUM!
