Sequence Step
1Slice the french bread loaf into 1 inch cubes.
2Combine milk, eggs, and vanilla extract in the baking dish. (Add a dash of nutmeg if you like).
3Place bread cubes into mixture and push down cubes. Ensure that all of the bread is within the mixture. Cover and refrigerate over night or about 8 hours.
4Remove from the refrigerator and allow to sit at room temp for 30-45 minutes.
5Preheat oven to 350. Dot buttery spread on top, ensuring a good spread over all of the top once melted.
6Combine sugar and cinnamon, sprinkle over the top, spreading out evenly.
7Cover with foil and bake for 45-50 minutes. Check for doneness by inserting a knife into the center. It is done when the knife is removed clean. Let stand for 5 minutes to cool.
8Serve with fresh fruit for a healthful meal anytime of the day.
