Steps
Sequence Step
1In a saucepan, combine pumpkin, milk, sugar, salt, spices and butter. Mix well and heat until butter is melted.
2Separate one egg and beat the white stiffly.
3Lightly beat the remaining egg and egg yolk.
4Pour pumpkin mixture over the egg
5Fold in stiffly beaten egg white. Cool.
6Pour into uncooked pie shell. Top with grated nutmeg.
7Bake in hot overn (500F) for 8 minutes. Reduce heat to 325F. Bake 25 - 30 minutes or until set. Cool.
