Steps
Sequence Step
1Toast the oats and the almonds before mixing. Add all ingredients in a large bowl and prepare to get your hands dirty - there''s no clean way to make these! The sugar-free syrup was just an estimate - adjust more or less according to your needs. You want a "dough" that is mixed but not drippy. Since they are no-bake, you want them to hold together fairly well. The downside is that they must be stored in the fridge. The upside is that it''s lots of protein and fiber, which post-bariatric surgery patients need. This recipe is for an 8x8 pan, and I cut it into 16 pieces. I take it to work in a small cooler with my water, etc. in a baggie. The real beauty of the recipe is that you can adjust the ingredients to your personal taste. My way isn''t the only way!
2I also use 1/2 cup of PB2 (powdered peanut butter from BellPlantation.com) in this recipe. The added nutrition from this is not calculated in the recipe.
