In separate bowl, combine all wet ingredients. Remember, if your milk is cold, warm it up - or somehow temper the melted butter so that it does not re-solidify when added to the milk.

Mix wet set of ingredients into dry, just until combined. Batter will be lumpy.

Pour 1/4 cup rounds onto griddle or frying pan. Sprinkle each with sliced almonds.

When bubbles form and pop in batter, flip and cook until done.
