Recipe Description This is a diabetes friendly veggie burger that I found superior to the prepared patties in the grocery store freezer. It feels good to create something from scratch that helps control my blood glucose.

Sequence Step
1Bring water to boil in small saucepan. Add quinoa, return to boil. Reduce to simmer, cover and cook until water absorbed, about 10 minutes.
2Heat one tablespoon vegetable oil in medium skillet over medium heat. Add cup onion and garlic and cook, stirring occasionally, until soft and fragrant, about 3 minutes. Add beans and cumin, mashing the beans to a smooth paste with a fork. Transfer the mixture to a bowl and let cool slightly. Add the quinoa, cilantro, 1/2 tsp salt
3Form the bean mash into 4 patties and transfer to a baking sheet. Refrigerate for 30 minutes.
4Heat oil in a large cast iron skillet over medium heat. Cook the burgers until heated through and brown
