Sequence Step
1Heat oil, add onions and saute.
2add leeks, potatoes, carrots, salt, and pepper and saute another 5 min. add chicken stock (william sonoma chicken stock was used)and saffron, bring to a boil, then simmer uncovered for 30 min. There is too much salt, but I wrote what recipe called for. I also used less saffron. There is a pistou recipe to go along with this but I did not use tonight.
