Steps
Sequence Step
1Fry the onions in the butter (or margarine) for a couple of minutes.
2Add the thyme, consomme, pepper, sherry, worcestershire sauce and water and simmer for 25 minutes.
3Add soup to bowls and top with bread and cheese.
4Baked in oven under broiler for five minutes (optional).
