Bring 1/2 cup of water to a boil

Add 1/8 cup of the TVP to the water and let simmer for about 5 minutes

Saute the vegetables with the cumin in a separate sauce pan in the meantime

Rinse the black beans and begin mashing them into the tofu

Add the TVP, tofu mixture, and flour in a pot to hand mix

Mix until homogeneous and add salt and pepper to taste

Mold into patty shapes, makes two large

Heat over hot canola oil in a sauce pan for about 20 minutes or until golden brown, flipping halfway.
