Recipe Description This is an old family favorite from my PA Dutch heritage. Great dish using sweet and sour.

Ingredients

medium slices (packed 20/lb)bacon, cooked and crumbled

cupsgreen beans, canned

tablespoonfirmly packed brown sugar

tablespoonvinegar

largeeggs hard boiled
Steps
Sequence Step
1Fry bacon in skillet until crisp. Remove bacon and crumble. Set aside and save for topping. Drain off all but 1 TBSP drippings.
2Add onion and brown lightly.
3Stir in cornstarch and dry mustard.
4Drain beans reserving 1/2 cup liquid. Stir reserved liquid in skillet.
5Cook, stirring until mixture boils.
6Blend in brown sugar and vinegar.
7Add green beans and heat thoroughly.
8Turn into serving dish and garnish with egg and crumbled bacon.
