Steps
Sequence Step
1Top and tail the beans.
2Place them in a steamer over about an inch of water. Steam for 8 to 10 minutes. Until tender but still slightly crisp.
3Remove the steamer from the pan and drain the water.
4Pour the beans into the pot that held the water. Add the olive oil and the garlic to the beans in the hot pot. Stir until well coated.
5Add the lemon juice and salt (optional) stirring to mix thoroughly.
6Can be served hot or cold (as a bean salad).
