Put the milk, butter, sugar, and cocoa in a 3 qt saucepan over medium high heat. Cook, stirring frequently until it reaches 212 degrees Farenheit on a candy thermometer (should take about 2-5 minutes). Remove from the heat and add the peanut butter and vanilla. Stir and then add the oatmeal. Beat with a large wooden spoon until well mixed. Drop on wax paper and let cool.
