Combine flour and salt, mix with whisk. Add the shortening, using a pastry cutter, gradually work the shortening into the flour until the mixture resembles tiny pebbles. This should take 3 or 4 minutes.

Lightly beat egg with a fork, then add to mixture. Next add the cold water and vinegar. Stir the mixture together until it''s just combined.

Remove half the dough from the bowl, place in a large plastic bag, slightly flatten. Do the same with the other half of dough. You can chill or freeze dough until ready to use. If frozen let thaw at room temp for about 20 minutes. Roll out.
