Preheat oven to 400. Spray 12 standard muffin cups with Pam. Place 2 tsp. maple syrup, 1 tsp. chopped walnuts, 1/2 tsp. melted butter into each muffin cup.

Combine flour, sugar, baking soda in a large bowl.

Whisk milk, oil, egg and 3 Tbsp. maple syrup in medium bowl. Add to flour mixture, stir until just blended. Spoon batter into muffin cups. Place muffin cups on cookie sheet to catch drips.

bake 20 to 25 min. Invert pan onto wire rack covered with wax paper to cool.
