Cream butter and sugar until fluffy , add eggs one at a time beating after each addition . Beat in vanilla . Combine the flour, baking powder and baking soda together add to creamed mixture alternatively with buttermilk . Be well after each addition

Pour into a greased and floured 10 inch fluted tube pan. Bake at 350° for 45 to 50 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean . Cool for 10 minutes before removing from pan , cool on wire rack completely .

For icing in a small sauce pan combine the butter brown sugar and cream . Bring to a boil stirring constantly . Remove from the heat semicolon cool for 5 to 10 minutes . Gradually beat in powdered sugar until smooth . Drizzle over cake.
