Put onion and a little oil in large pot. Soften onions.

Add the water, carrots, celery, and chicken breasts. Boil until chicken is cooked through.

Remove chicken and cube. Remove half of the water leaving the vegetables.

Add the quart of chicken broth and return to a boil. Add salt, pepper, and garlic powder.

Add the dumplings/biscuits and boil for about 8 minutes (until no longer doughy). Reduce heat to medium.

Add chicken back in. Stir. Serve hot!
