combine milk, yeast, and sugar

add salt, shortening, egg, and 2 cups of the flour

mix on low speed until ingredients are wet

increase mixer to medium and mix for 2 min.

add 2 cups of flour

mix on medium speed for 2 min.

add remaining flour, 1/2 cup at a time, and mix until dough is soft, not overly sticky, and not stiff.

place dough in oiled bowl and flip so oil is on all the dough

cover with plastic wrap and let rise until doubled in size

place dough on floured surface, roll out and shape as desired

place on greased baking pans and cover lighty

let rise until doubled

bake at 375 for 15 to 20 min. or until browned
