Cream shortening, applesauce, sugar, salt.

Add boiling water and mix well.

Stir in cereal, egg whites, bananas, and baking powder.

Dissolve yeast in warm water and add to shortening mixture, stirring well.

Add flours gradually until it makes a soft dough.

Place in a greased bowl, turning once to coat top. Cover and let rise in warm place, free from drafts for one hour.

Divide dough into 2 inch balls.

Dip each ball in butter and place on a litghtly oiled baking sheet. Cover with a light towel and let rise one hour.

Bake at 400 degrees for 8 minutes or until lightly brown.
