Cream shortening and sugar. Add pumpkin, egg, and vanilla; beat well. Sift together flour, baking powder, soda, salt and spices. Add to creamed mixture; blend well. Stir in raisins and nuts. Drop by rounded teaspoons, two inches apart, on greased cookie sheet. Bake at 350° for 12 to 15 minutes. Makes 3 1/2 dozen cookies.
