Brown Italian sausage. Drain and set aside. Roughly chop bacon slices; brown then remove from pan and set aside. Cook chopped onion until translucent; add garlic, cook for 30 seconds. Add sausage, bacon, and sliced potatoes to pot. Add 10 cups chicken broth. Bring to boil. Lower heat to simmer; cook until potatoes are tender. Add kale last few minutes before serving.
