Steps
Sequence Step
Dissolve the yeast into warm milk (110-115 degrees)
Add the honey, salt and melted butter
Add 6 cups of flour and mix
While mixing add additional flour until the result is a single mass ball that pulls away from the mixer bowl
Turn out the dough mass and knead for approximately 6 minutes our until the dough is smooth and elastic.
Place the dough ball into an oiled bowl; turn once to coat evenly, then set aside to rise for approximately 2 hours or until the dough has doubled in size. Do not skimp on this as the resulting density to the bread is obvious.
After the rise turn the dough onto a floured surface and knock down the mass, divide into two equal portions and place in loaf pans.
Allow the dough to rise in the loaf pan until it extends 1'' above the rim of the pan.
Bake at 375 degrees for 30 - 35 minutes or until the crust is dark and crisp.
Allow to cool completely, slice and enjoy.
