Cook bacon in a large skillet over medium heat until crisp.

Dry off oil on paper towels and crumble bacon.

Whisk flour, and the next 3 ingredients together in a large bowl.

Whisk buttermilk, eggs and 3 tbsp. maple syrup in medium bowl.

Add buttermilk mixture to dry ingredients, stir until blended.

Fold in melted butter and bacon.

Preheat waffle iron and lightly brush with oil or use cooking spray. Spoon waffle batter on to waffle iron and bake until waffles are brown.
