Put Butter and Sugar in bowl. Beat until light and fluffy.

Add egg to sugar mixture, blend well.

Sift together flour, ginger, cinnamon, cloves, and baking soda.

Add 1/2 of flour mixture to bowl with wet ingredients, mix on low.

Add molasses. Blend well.

Add rest of flour mixture. beat on low spead until blended.

Cover bowl and refrigerate 1 hour

preheat oven to 375 F

Roll dough into 1 inch balls place 2 inches apart on cookie sheet Bake for 8-10 minutes or until golden brown.

Let cool on sheet for 1 minute. Remove with pancake turner to wire cooling rack. Cool 15 minutes.

Repeat until all dough has been used. Store in airtight container
