Dissolve yeast in warm water.

Mix in sugar, salt, egg and evaporated milk, and blend well.

Mix in two cups of flour until smooth batter.

Add Shortening and other 1 3/4 cup of flour.

Chill for 1 hour.

Roll out dough to 1/8 inch thick.

Cut into 2 1/2 inch squares.

Fry in 360 degree F hot Vegetable oil until popped up and golden brown.

Drain onto paper towel and sprinkle with confectioner''s sugar to taste and serve warm.
