Chop onions, peppers, and garlic; in a cast iron skillet quicky soften the vegetalbes in 1 tsp of olive oil. Remove from heat and cool.
In a large bowl place ground turkey and remaining ingredients and top with softened vegetables. Stir together or use your hands to mix the ingredients only until combined. Do not over mix.
Use a scoop or scale and form 11, four ounce burger patties. Salt and pepper both sides of the patties.
Heat oven to 400F. Line a cookie sheet with foil and set aside. Using the same cast iron skillet, heat the pan over medium heat. Add one teaspoon oil or non stick spray to hot pan and brown both sides of 3-4 burgers at a time (do not over crowd pan) to form a dark brown crust. Place the burgers on cookie sheet as they are browned. Place the cookie sheet in the oven for 10-15 minutes until they are firm to touch and juices run clear.
Uncooked burger patties can be individually frozen to thaw and cook at a later time.
