Simply pour the black beans into the pot to start cooking.

Then cut up the potatoes and add them to the pot.

Chop up a half a cup on red onion and add that to the mixture.

Add 1/4 cup of milk. Stir pot.

Add all the spices in and then cover and let simmer for 15 minutes or so. Check to see if the onion is soft. If not simmer a little longer. Taste to add additional spices.
