Place 1 cup sugar, oil, water, yeast, milk, cardamom and eggs in large mixer bowl with dough hook attachment. Stir to combine and let rest 10 minutes.

Add flour and salt to mixer bowl and mix for 15 minutes.

Remove dough from mixer to lightly floured surface and knead 5 to 10 times.

Place dough into a oiled bowl and flip dough to coat both sides.

Let dough rise in a warm place until double in size. About an hour.

Cut and weigh dough into 4 ounce balls of dough.

Roll each ball of dough into a long rope (12 inches).

Braid three ropes of dough together. Pinch each end under.

Place Braids on a parchment lined baking pan. Brush with egg wash, twice. (2 eggs and 2 tablespoons water well beaten).

Sprinkle granulated sugar over each braid. sprinkle each braid with sliced almonds.

Let Braids rise in a warm place until double.

Bake in preheated 325 degree oven 15 to 17 minutes or until lightly browned.

Remove to cooling rack. Cool completely.

Package in food approved packaging. Store covered or freeze up to one month.
