Sequence Step
1Heat the oil over medium heat. Add onion, garlic, the tortillas, and cilantro. Cook until onions are translucent.
2Add the tomatoes, water and broth bringing to a boil.
3Add seasonings and bay leaves.
4Reduce heat and simmer for an additional 30 minutes.
5Remove bay leaves and stir in shredded chicken.
6Garnish with Monterrey Jack cheese and avocado, and sour cream and tortilla chips, if desired.
