In large 5qt pan brown ground beef add chopped onion ( salt or pepper if desired as I do not cook with either) add the 2 large cans or red Kidney beans rinse cans with water add to ingredients.add tomato purée again rinse with water adding to the pot then diced tomato can and tomato paste. Add chili powder add more as desired. Then tablespoon of sugar to enhance tomato flavors. Bring to boil reduce heat simmer for at least 90 minutes to allow chili powder to work through the soup. Serve hot makes 20 cups
