Rinse and sort beans in a large bowl or pan. Let stand overnight or at least 6-8 hours. Drain and rinse beans.
Add 4 Cups of Chicken Broth (I used low sodium) and 4 Cups of Water to crock pot. Add the beans and the rest of the ingredients. You can also add carrots or any other vegetables that you would like, which will change the nutritional value, but that''s your call! I''ve made with carrots and mushrooms added as well...very good!
