Preheat oven to 375F

1. In a medium bowl, combine flours, baking powder, salt, sugar, spices.

In another bowl combine milk, egg, oil, applesauce. Add wet mixture to dry ingredients. Mixing only until moistened.

Stir in small diced, peeled and cored apples.

Divide batter into six muffin cups.

Mix flaxseed meal and brown sugar in a small bowl. Cut in butter. Divide mixture to top each of the six muffins.

Bake muffins for about 20 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the centers comes out clean.
