Combine peas, garlic, water, salt, and bay leaf in a large sauce pan. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat; cover and simmer for 45 minutes until the peas are tender. Drain and retain the cooking liquid. Remove the bay leaf.

Puree the peas in a blender. Add the olive oil, yogurt, and 3/4 Tbls of cooking liquid. Thin with more cooking liquid as need to obtain desired consistency.

Transfer to a bowl and season with salt and lemon juice.
