Prepare bacon however you want, can be pan fried, microwaved, even cooked in a Dutch oven. Just make them crisp. Keep the drippings and crumble the bacon.

Add the onion to the drippings in a pan and sauté them for about 4 minutes. Stir in broth and all ingredients besides the vinegar and bring to a boil. Reduce the heat and let simmer for about 55 minutes or until the beans are tender. Stir in the vinegar.

Ladle out four servings into four bowls and top each with the bacon. Good job.
