Saute chopped onion in olive oil. Add garlic, cumin, cinnamon and cayenne pepper. When onion is barely golden brown, add broth, pumpkin, tomatoes, black beans, sherry and vinegar. Bring to a boil,turn down and simmer 15 minutes.
