| 1 | mix flour and sugar | 2 | put flour and sugar mixture in heavy pan with milk. | 3 | separate eggs and beat yolks well (save whites)and add to milk mixture along with vanilla and butter | 4 | stir constantly until it comes to boil and thickens (about 1 minute after it boils) | 5 | Add 3/4 of coconut and stir well | 6 | place in pie crust | 7 | beat 3 egg whites until stiff and slowly add 6T. sugar | 8 | Place on pie, making sure to seal edges well,sprinkle remainder of coconut on top and bake at 350 until brown | 9 | cool to room temperature to cut |
