Steps
Sequence Step
1Brown ground beef, drain. Saute onions and mushrooms until tender. Combine beef, onions, mushrooms and sauce. Set aside.
2Place cottage cheese, eggs, and one cup mozzarella cheese into work bowl of food processor. Add seasoning (parsley, garlic, salt, pepper) if desired. Process until fairly smooth, about 45 seconds.
3In 9x13 pan, place 1/3 of the meat sauce. Place 4 lasagna noodles over sauce. Spread 1/2 of the cottage cheese mixture over noodles. Next layer on the next 1/3 of the meat sauce, and repeat with 4 more noodles and rest of cottage cheese mixture. Finish with final 1/3 of sauce. Top with remaining mozzarella cheese.
4Cover tightly with foil and bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes or until hot and bubbly. Let stand for at least 15 minutes before serving.
