| 1 | Add the 1/2 cup water and sugar together and bring to a boil. Take about half the berries and crush them. Add them to the water and sugar mixture. | 2 | Take your 3/4 cup cold water and cornstarch and mix together. Add to the berry syrup. Cook until the syrup becomes thick and translucent. | 3 | Add in your salt, lemon juice, and red food coloring. Place in the freezer until ice cold but not frozen. | 4 | Add the rest of the halved strawberries (or sliced) and place in a baked and cooled pie crust. Top with fresh whipped cream. | 5 | This pie needs to be served fresh the day it is made for best results. |
