| 1 | In a large bowl blend the shortening with the sugars, adding the sugar gradually. | 2 | Add the eggs, milk and vanilla, beat well. | 3 | Add the flour, salt, and soda, beating well. | 4 | Stir in the oats, chocolate chips and raisins. | 5 | Drop by rounded tablespoonfuls, about two inches apart, onto ungreased cookie sheets. | 6 | Bake for 13 to 15 minutes or until golden brown. | 7 | Remove from the oven and let stand for five minutes, then transfer cookies to wire racks to finish cooling. |
