Good basic pie crust
Ingredients

1Whisk the flour and salt together in a medium size bowl. With a pastry blender, cut in the cold shortening until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
2Drizzle 3 tablespoons ice water over flour. Toss mixture with a fork to moisten, adding more water a few drops at a time until the dough comes together.
3Gently gather dough particles together into a ball. Wrap in plastic wrap, and chill for at least 30 minutes before rolling.
4Roll out dough, and put in a pie plate. Fill with desired filling and bake.

Steps
Sequence Step
1Preheat oven to 325 degrees F (165 degrees C).
2Beat eggs until frothy, add sugars and vanilla.
3Melt butter or margarine, and add to sugar and egg mixture.
4Stir in flour until well blended.
5Mix in walnuts and chocolate chips.
6Pour into pie pan and bake for 1 hour. Serve warm with whipped cream or ice cream.
