Ingredients
Amt. Measure Ingredient
4
cupsall-purpose flour
4
teaspoonsbaking powder
1
cupmilk
4
tablespoonssugar
1/2
cup (8 fl oz)water, as needed for right consistency
Steps
Sequence Step
1Mix dry ingredients well. Then add milk (if it is canned or regular; water if dry). Mix well. Add water and mix until you have a doughy consistancy. In a large cookie sheet, spread about a cup of flour. Roll your dough into the floured cookie sheet. Sprinkle a little flour over it, and flour your hands (the dough is very sticky), and tear off pieces of dough. Roll them into a ball, then flatten them into disks and drop them into the hot oil. Flip them when they turn a golden brown. Must stay with them when this process begins, it is very easy to burn them. Ways to Serve Fry Bread: Indian Tacos- Over your fry Bread, you will add taco burger, lettuce, cheese, tomatoe, onion, black olives, sour cream! (Excellent dish, but I will warn you...incredibly filling!) Blanket Dogs- Wrap your dough around the hot dog and then drop it into the hot oil. (A kid favorite!) You can dip it in ketchup, or mustard, or whatever your desire. Sweet Snack- Butter the fry bread and sprinkle cinnamon over it! Or an Unsweetened Snack- You can simply butter your piece of fry bread and eat it or you can eat the fry bread without anything on it! It is still very good.
