Recipe Description My wife and I found this recipe somewhere online, probably www.tasteofhome.com, but I can't recall for certain. But we've tweaked it for our own use, and everyone we've served it to loves it!

cup whole kernelsalmonds sliced
1/2
cuphoney
1/3
cupVegetable Oil
1/4
cup, packedbrown sugar
1
1/2
teaspoonsvanilla extract
1/4
teaspooncinnamon, ground
1
cupcrispy rice cereal
1/2
cuptoasted wheat germ
1/4
cupflax seeds
1/4
cupwhole wheat flour
Steps
Sequence Step
1In a large bowl, combine the oats, Grape-Nuts and almonds. Spread onto a greased, foil-lined 15-in. x 10-in. x 1-in. baking pan. Coat mixture with cooking spray. Bake, uncovered, at 300° for 20 min., stirring once. (You might consider not greasing the foil before baking.) Meanwhile, in a small saucepan, combine the honey, oil and brown sugar. Cook and stir over low heat until heated through. Remove from the heat; add vanilla and cinnamon.
2Stir cereal and wheat germ into oat mixture. Drizzle with honey mixture; stir to coat. Bake 5-10 minutes longer or until golden brown. Cool on a wire rack.
3Break granola into pieces. Sprinkle with dried fruit; mix well. Store in an airtight container (gallon Ziploc works well). Serve with yogurt, if desired. It helps it not stick together so much if you sprinkle a little [whole wheat] flour over it after breaking it into pieces and shake it up (inside its container, obviously).
