1	cup	shortening
1 3/4	cups	white sugar
2	large	eggs
1	cup	sour cream
1	teaspoon	vanilla extract
1	teaspoon	baking powder
2	teaspoons	baking soda
1	teaspoon	salt
4 1/2	cups	all-purpose flour

Steps

Sequence	Step

1	mix shortening and sugar together
2	add eggs, vanilla and sour cream and mix well
3	add dry ingredients until dough forms
4	chill dough in refrigerator
5	roll out dough and cut out cookies
6	bake 350 deg for 8-10 min. depending on thickness of cookie
7	Let cool and frost with favorite frosting
