Sequence Step
1Peel the outer layer from2 medium fennel bulbs. Trim the tops, leaving about 3 inches of the green stocks. Cut each bulb in half vertically. Brush with oiliveoil, season with ale and pepper, and grill cut side down about 4 minutes or until marked and slightly soft. Turn and grill the other side until marked and coked through, about 2 minutes longer.
