| 1 | Bring 1/2 cup of water to a boil | 2 | Add 1/8 cup of the TVP to the water and let simmer for about 5 minutes | 3 | Saute the vegetables with the cumin in a separate sauce pan in the meantime | 4 | Rinse the black beans and begin mashing them into the tofu | 5 | Add the TVP, tofu mixture, and flour in a pot to hand mix | 6 | Mix until homogeneous and add salt and pepper to taste | 7 | Mold into patty shapes, makes two large | 8 | Heat over hot canola oil in a sauce pan for about 20 minutes or until golden brown, flipping halfway. |
