Amt. Measure Ingredient
2
cups, choppedOnion, chopped
1
poundground turkey
6
mediumTurnips
8
cupschicken broth, fat free, low sodium
2
cups, choppedKale
2
cups, choppedCarrots, raw (baby carrots)
1
tablespoonVegetable Oil
Steps
Sequence Step
1Heat oil in large pot.
2Add chopped onions and cook until translucent.
3Once the onions are ready, add the ground turkey. Season with whatever spices you like. I used a mixture of chives, salt, and pepper.
4After the turkey is browned, add the turnips and let them cook with the turkey and onions for about 10 minutes.
5After the turnips have gathered all the spices and flavors from the onions and turkey. add your chicken broth.
6After you add the broth, put your carrots in the pot with the onions, turkey, and turnips. Let this cook for about 20 minutes, or until all the veggies are tender.
7When your veggies are almost done, add the kale. You should let the kale cook in the soup for about 10 minutes.
8If the soup is too bland, try adding some red pepper flakes or season salt. I put a small spoonful of olive tapenade in mine (only because I had it on hand) and top with cheese (optional, but delicious)
