Steps
Sequence Step
1Cook wild rice first. Takes about 45 minutes. Start below about 30 minutes after rice has been cooking. After the rice is almost cooked. Heat olive oil in a non-stick pan and sprinkle monteray seaoning on shrimp both sides. Cook each side approx 1 to 2 minutes and remove from pan and set aside
2dice up Jalapeño and garlic cloves and cook in same pan as you did the shrimp. There should be some monteray seasoning left in pan. Add extra oil if necessary. Cook pepper and garlic for approx 3 minutes turn on stove vent pepper fumes are pretty bad.
3Add the can or bottle of guiness beer and add bay leaf into the sauteed pepper and garlic. Simmer beer about half way down.
4add 1/2 stick of butter the half and half or you could use heavy whipping creme. Squeeze the full lemon in mixture.
5return shrimp to pan and let simmer.
6Cook garlic bread sticks usually the ones in the freezer section are the best for this receipe.
7When all completed. Put shrimp with sauce in a bowl. Serve over wild rice and preserve the sauce it is for dipping the bread sticks in. Enjoy
