Steps
Sequence Step
1Pre heat oven to 350 F
2Proof the yeast by adding honey to water; warm the water/honey mixture to (110-120 F); then add the yeast. let set for at least 10 min or longer until it is foamy and smells yeasty.
3Combine remaining dry ingredients in a flour sifter
4In a large bowl add the proofed yeast, then slowly sift the dry ingredients into the bowl. Stirring
5Add the room temperature eggs and applesauce. Beat until the dough is smooth light and airy. Turn the dough onto a clean surface and knead until it comes together.
6Transfer to the baking pan. bake at 350 for 35-40 min until firm and toothpick comes out clean.
7If you desire a nicely browned crust: set oven to broil and broil for 1-3 min until desired crust is achieved.
8Remove from oven and cool on wire rack. Slice with sharp knife into 24 slices.
